Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Police in New Jersey learned an alligator found swimming at the bottom of a motel pool was part of a rap video.

The 3-foot gator long gator starred in a music video at Bayview Inn & Suites for the single "Damn," featuring rapper Sean Temple, who goes by the stage name Style1, NJ.com reported.

When police discovered and captured the alligator during an unrelated raid at the motel on Aug. 15, officers assumed it had made its way into the pool from the nearby Lakes Bay nature preserve.

Temple, 31, and Bashawn Whitted-Scott, 25, were arrested and charged with robbery, conspiracy, aggravated assault, conspiracy to make terroristic threats and unlawful possession of a weapon after they allegedly robbed homes in the area with a handgun and assaulted at least one person, the Press of Atlantic City reported.

None of the charges stem from the music video -- which displayed guns, drugs and the alligator in the swimming pool.

After being captured by animal control, the gator was taken to the Cape May County Park and Zoo and will be transferred to an animal reserve outside Tampa Bay, Fla., this year.
