Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Wildlife officials in Mississippi said a group of hunters set a new state record by bagging an alligator measuring more than 14 feet long.

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks said alligator program coordinator Ricky Flynt certified the gargantuan reptile, measuring 14 feet 3/4 inches long, broke the previous state record by half an inch.
