Attempted cat rescue goes unexpectedly right

Aug. 28 (UPI) -- A man who descended a ladder to rescue a seemingly stranded cat at the bottom of a hole received an amusing surprise when the feline saved itself.

The video shows the man using a wooden ladder to descend into the hole at what appears to be the site of a demolished building.

The man gets to the bottom of the hole, intending to rescue the seemingly stranded cat, when the feline shocks its would-be rescuer and the filmer by running up the side of the seemingly-unclimbable hole.

The cat shoots most of the way straight up, before running across the wall horizontally parkour-style and bounding away to safety.

The man and his observers erupt into fits of laughter at the unexpected ending to the rescue.
