Racetrack security finds bottle of vodka in woman's sandwich

Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Security guards at a British racetrack shared a photo of one woman's unusual attempt to smuggle vodka into the facility by hiding it inside a sandwich.

A photo tweeted by Southwell Racecourse shows the baguette sandwich containing salami, tomato, and a bottle of Glen's vodka.

"You hide it, we find it!" the racecourse tweeted.

The racecourse said the sandwich's contraband contents were seized and woman was told she could pick it up on her way out of the venue, but she declined to reclaim her vodka.

"This particular customer tried to be inventive and sneak in alcohol in a different way," a spokesman told the Newark Advertiser. "We have bag searches on the gates and if anyone tries to sneak in alcohol we take it from them. Our security guys checked this particular bag and, I don't know how they managed to find it, but maybe it was a hefty sandwich that caught their eye."

The racecourse has promised a prize for the Twitter user who submits the best caption for the photo.

The tweet captured the attention of Glen's Vodka, which responded with the creation of a new drink: "The Glen's Salami Sizzler."
