Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Police in Oklahoma helped bring an escaped goat back to its owners after it wandered to a local grocery store.

Oklahoma City Police Department shared photos of the goat on Tuesday when officers found the escaped animal tied to a shopping cart holder in the parking lot of a Crest Foods market.

"The buggy corral is not the proper corral for a goat," police said. "That can lead to a baaaaaad ending."

Elvira Rivera said her goat, Junior, likely escaped from her home on Monday after she and her husband forgot to close the gate.

"It was in the morning," she said. "I told my husband the dog wasn't barking as usual, and we went outside and the goat wasn't there."

Rivera said she saw the police department's post and was shocked to find Junior had made his way to the grocery store.

She and her son Alex drove to claim the goat on Wednesday, as the family was reunited with their wayward pet.

"He saw us and he ran to us, and we were happy to get him back," Rivera said. "It was a happy ending."
