Aug. 17 (UPI) -- A baby seal adopted the monicker of a Game of Thrones character after being rescued from a beach in Wales.

Will Galvin of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals responded to the beach in Cymru after receiving reports of a lethargic male seal pup that was unable to move its left flipper.

"I arrived at Towyn beach to find this poor seal pup looking very thin, and in a lethargic state," Galvin said.

Animal control officers rescued the seal pup and brought it to a specialist wildlife center at Stapeley Grange where it was given the name Theon, to join other rescues that have recently been named after Game of Thrones characters.

Staff at the wildlife center said Theon sustained some muscle injuries, but remains under close supervision while being treated with medication.

"The poor thing was transported to specialist RSPCA wildlife facilities for treatment and support," Galvin said. "Theon is now undergoing rehabilitation at Stapeley Grange - and seems to have quickly joined a Game of Thrones clan!"
