The video, filed at the Maasai Mara National Reserve and posted to YouTube by Maasai Mara Sightings, shows the leopard initially rooting around a fallen tree in search of prey. The leopard attempts to pounce on the flying squirrel by jumping from a high branch, but ultimately fails to catch its prey or learn to fly as it crashes to the ground. The leopard, apparently embarrassed, picks itself up without showing signs of injury and scurries away.
