Aug. 17 (UPI) -- A Missouri theme park unveiled plans for the "world's fastest, steepest and tallest" spinning roller coaster for National Roller Coaster Day.

The 1880s-themed Silver Dollar City amusement park in Branson announced construction of its upcoming record-breaking $26 million Time Traveler spinning coaster, the Kansas City Star reported.

The ambitious coaster will feature a 10-story, 90-degree vertical drop as well as a dive loop, a zero-gravity roll and a 95-foot-tall vertical loop, all while spinning riders 360 degrees.

"It's gonna be really fun," Silver Dollar City Attractions president, Brad Thomas, told the Springfield News-Leader. "It's going to be thrilling."

German company Mack Rides designed the roller coaster, which mechanical engineer Dennis Gordt called a "crazy idea" compared to its other coasters.

Time Traveler is the park's most expensive attraction in its 57-year history and the first to combine a double-launch coaster with spinning passenger cars and multiple inversions.

"This is great for Branson," Mayor Karen Best said.

The coaster is currently under construction and is scheduled to debut in spring 2018.
