Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Firefighters were called to a hospital in China to free a toddler whose hand became stuck in the dispenser chute of a small toy vending machine.

The boy's parents told rescuers they left the young boy alone momentarily while they bought some medicine at the hospital in Sihong County, Jiangsu Province, and they returned to find he had apparently tried to reach up for a toy and his hand became stuck inside the machine.

The parents quickly determined they couldn't free the boy's hand on their own, so they summoned firefighters.

The fire crew spent about 10 minutes taking the machine apart to free the boy's hand without serious injuries.

It was unclear whether the boy was able to get one of the toys for his troubles.
