Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Reading and Leeds festivals in England placed pineapples on the list of banned items due to one act's affinity for the spiky fruit.
Pineapples will join weapons, gas canisters and non-guide animals on the list of items banned from both campsites and arenas during the three-day music festival.
British indie rock band Glass Animals are thought to be responsible for the ban, as their song "Pork Soda" features the lyric "pineapples in my head."
Fans of the band have been known to bring pineapples to their shows, including a performance at Lollapalooza.
"You know Glass Animals are playing Lollapalooza today when you see security confiscating multiple pineapples," one fan wrote on Twitter.
Fans sought creative ways to show their appreciation for the pineapples despite the ban, including one who asked if they would be able to wear a pineapple costume to the festival.
"Yes, good idea," the band responded.
