Car filmed in bizarre upright position on Connecticut road

Aug. 4 (UPI) -- A car that appeared to be floating in a bizarre position on a Connecticut road was tangled after traveling up a support wire during a storm.

A viral video captured by a witness to the Wednesday incident in West Suffield shows a car that appears to be stuck upright in the middle of a road.

The filmer can be heard wondering how the car ended up in its predicament, theorizing "the wind took it."

Lisa Beaulieu, who was inside the car with her children, ages 4 and 5, said the vehicle actually became stuck when the vehicle went up a displaced support wire and became tangled in telephone lines.

"We could see the telephone pole break and fall in front of us. And I couldn't stop and we ended up getting tangled up in the wires," Beaulieu told WFSB-TV.

"We were really scared," Beaulieu said. "I was worried we were going to fall, the cable was going to break or the wire was live."

The mother and her children were rescued safely from the vehicle.

Police said the incident remains under investigation.
