Aug. 3 (UPI) -- A cartoonist in in Scotland created a loaf of bread shaped like his pet tortoise and the two quickly became a bit too close.
Neil Slorance shared a photo of his tortoise Herman next to a large loaf of bread he baked in the pet's likeness.
"My day? Oh y'know, made a bread version of my tortoise then showed it to him," Slorance wrote.
Slorance said he used Great British Bakeoff judge Paul Hollywood's London Bloomer Bread recipe and shaped it like a tortoise.
After Herman posed for the picture, Slorance said the tortoise took a nibble out of his bread doppleganger before losing interest.
"Herman no," Slorance wrote alongside a photo of the tortoise biting the bread.
Despite the betrayal, Slorance said he was pleased with Herman's interaction with his look-alike because the tortoise isn't meant to eat bread.
