Shark steals tarpon from Florida fisherman's line

Aug. 2 (UPI) -- A Florida fisherman reeling in a tarpon captured the moment a bull shark swooped in and stole the catch right off his line.

Rob Gorta said he was tarpon fishing in Tampa Bay when he met with some unexpected competition.

Gorta's video shows him reeling in what appears to be a quite large tarpon and getting the fish all the way to the boat before it catches the attention of a large bull shark.

The shark strikes and steals the fish before Gorta can get it out of the water.
