July 28 (UPI) -- A visitor to the Houston Zoo captured video of the facility's newborn baby elephant taking advantage of her small size and escaping her enclosure.

Ed Wolff said his son, Jake, was at the elephant exhibit Wednesday at the Texas zoo when Joy, an Asian elephant born at the facility July 12, squeezed underneath the lowest cable on the fence surrounding her enclosure, entering into a secure area for zookeepers between the enclosure and the public, KPRC reported.

In the video, Joy's mother, Shanti, 26, trumpets a sound of apparent displeasure at her offspring as the baby runs around in the zookeeper area.

Zoo officials said the baby elephant never made it past the secondary enclosure fence and was not in any public areas before handlers ushered her back to her mother's side.
