"I know that me and my mom were pretty freaked out about it, seeing it, you know, but it was pretty fast," Ortez told KXAS-TV.
"You could hear the squirrel barking as it was being hauled off into the storm drain," said Nicole's father, Michael Ortez.
Michael Ortez said he believes he has spotted two different bobcats in the neighborhood.
Experts with local group 911 Wildlife told local publication Advocate Magazine in 2013 bobcat sightings increase around this time of year as they wander further into residential areas to find food for their newborn kittens.
Nicole Ortez said she isn't bothered by her neighborhood's now-infamous new residents.
"Animals are animals, and they're going to be where they are. I don't think it's that big of a deal,"said Nicole Ortez.
