July 25 (UPI) -- An Arkansas amusement park confirmed several roller coaster riders were stuck for an hour when the ride broke down.

The Magic Springs amusement park in Hot Springs confirmed the X-Coaster ride broke down about 2:31 p.m. with riders in mid-trip.

The riders were "manually returned to the station" by 3:28 p.m., the park said.

"After a while they got an anchor and they started dragging them down and they all got down safely," witness Jesus Alonso told KTHV-TV. "Some of them were crying, some of them were fine."

Visitors captured photos and videos of the roller coaster as it spent an hour stranded on the track.
