July 20 (UPI) -- An "army" of thousands of fiddler crabs were spotted crawling along the shore of a Massachusetts beach on Wednesday.
Wareham Department of Natural Resources shared videos of the horde of tiny crabs walking along an estuary.
"Fiddler crab army marching on Little Harbor Beach Estuary!" the department wrote.
The "crab army" moved together in various directions, climbing over each other forming a massive pile near the estuary.
Fiddler crabs are known to inhabit tidal marshes and the department said the crabs make the pilgrimage along the estuary "all summer long" every year.
