Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe July 18 (UPI) -- A llama that escaped its Colorado home after being chased by a bear was rescued from a canyon by emergency responders, but its partner remains on the loose. The Loveland Fire Rescue Authority said rescuers were summoned to the Big Thompson Canyon on Thursday after two llamas escaped from their owners and a driver on a nearby highway saw one of the animals was seen across the Big Thompson River. Advertisement Loveland Fire Rescue shared photos from the rescue of the llama, named Speckles, on Facebook. "We sent members across to get the llama and they were able to get it," Public Affairs Officer Scott Pringle told InsideEdition.com. He said the rescue was a unique call. "There have been no calls for llamas that I recall," Pringle said. "We've been called for horses or cows, which have been trapped or stuck in trenches or entangled somewhere. This was just wandering llama." A second llama, Bravado, escaped alongside Speckles and remained on the loose this weekend, the Denver Post reported.
