July 14 (UPI) -- A Florida man captured video of a miniature horse running loose in traffic after apparently escaping from its owner.

Rory Austin said he spotted the horse near where he works Thursday morning as it was running down the Seventh Avenue expansion in Miami Gardens.

Austin calls the animal a "pony" in the video he captured of the equine running in the road, but he later said he learned it was a miniature horse.

"I was definitely shocked, like, where would a mini horse come from in Miami Gardens? There's no farms around here," Austin told WPLG-TV.

Austin said the horse dodged multiple vehicles before a driver was able to lure the animal to him and hold it.

Austin said the mini horse did not appear to be injured and was returned to its owner.

A pair of miniature horses previously led police on a slow-speed chase in Indianapolis.

Witnesses captured video of police vehicles chasing the slow-moving equines down a city street, and a second video shows a police officer on foot chasing the horses through a parking lot. The horses were eventually captured and taken to Animal Care and Control.
