July 12 (UPI) -- A Florida woman posted a sign in her Daytona Beach front yard with an attention-grabbing message: "Don't park here to buy your drugs, your dealer is across the street."

Tammy Legget said she posted the sign -- which also calls on readers to "smile for the camera" -- after her repeated calls to police failed to curb what she describes as rampant drug activity at the apartment complex across the street from her house.

"This has been over a year that I've been fighting this. There have been 75 phone calls, 911 and non-emergency numbers since January, that I have made," she told WKMG-TV.

She said she has taken photos of items including abandoned needles and kept track of suspicious activity on her calendar.

"It's constant in and out traffic over there. For five minutes and gone," she said. "I don't know what's going to come from over there. I don't want my kids exposed to it."

Legget told Fox 35 Orlando she has installed 15 security cameras outside her home and has taken to shouting at suspected drug buyers using a megaphone.

"They need to realize all eyes are on them and it's time to go," Leggett said.

Daytona Beach police said officers have responded to the apartment complex 36 times in the past 12 months for complaints including narcotics activity.
