July 5 (UPI) -- A highway in Georgia was shut down for several hours after a truck spilled a massive load of raw chicken.

The spill at about 2 p.m. on Monday shut down all lanes of I-75 in Henry County for four hours, as raw chicken guts covered the roadway.

It was not immediately clear what caused the tractor-trailer to spill the chicken onto the highway.

Clean-up crews used heavy machinery to scrape large portion of the chicken off the pavement and spread a white, powdery substance to soak up what remained.

One lane of traffic was re-opened at about 3:45 p.m. and the Georgia Department of Transportation announced plans to completely clear traffic by 7 p.m.
