June 30 (UPI) -- A deer burst through the window of a building at a university in Wisconsin and ran around the hallways before breaking free.

The deer broke through the window of a hallway connecting the international center to a dorm at Concordia University at about 5: 30 p.m. on Wednesday night.

"It was rainy and foggy that night so the deer probably got confused and jumped and crashed right through one of our windows," university spokeswoman Kali Thiel said.

Thiel said the deer "did a number" on the kitchenette area that serves the residence hall and caused "pretty extensive" damage before leaping out of the building through another window.

"It kind of looked like a crime scene," Thiel said. "It was bleeding a bit and smeared some blood on the walls. It also jumped on a couch and knocked over a side table."

No one was hurt during the deer's brief visit to the university, but both windows were damaged.
