June 29 (UPI) -- The latest faux-fashion trend sweeping Instagram features people using a trick of perspective to make slices of watermelon look like clothes.

The "#WatermelonDress" trend on Instagram features women, as well as some men and babies, appearing to wear clothing based on the colors of watermelon slices, but a closer look reveals the users are employing forced perspective to make melon slices held close to the camera appear to be clothing.

The trend began in May and took off in June.

The watermelon dress trend reached new heights this week when celebrities including Emma Lee Bunton, aka the Spice Girls' Baby Spice, and Ryan Seacrest got into the action.
