Turtle trying to steal bread from fish foiled by unexpected rat

June 27 (UPI) -- A turtle and a group of fish competing for a piece of floating bread found themselves foiled by some unexpected competition -- a swimming rat.

A video filmed in an unidentified pond shows some goldfish and larger fish circling a small piece of floating bread.

A turtle swims up and takes a nip from the bread, but its meal is cut short when a rat swims up and snatches the morsel.

The short clip went viral after being posted to Imgur by user iwasdoingfinelurking, who summed up the video: "I did not see that coming."

"Master Splinter, still schooling the turtles to this very day," user PullBillman quipped.
