June 27 (UPI) -- A British cricket team shared video of an escaped bull interrupting a game by charging out onto the pitch and taking aim at players and officials.

The Mossley Cricket Club tweeted a video from the Saturday incident during the second innings of a Saturday match against the Kerridge Cricket Club in Cheshire, England.

The video shows the bull, which was initially identified as a cow, charging Kettidge team captain Adam banks before turning its attentions to an umpire and a fielder, who managed to dive out of the way of the oncoming bovine.

"It was scary at the time but I can see the funny side now," Banks told the Macclesfield Express. "At first I just thought 'hello, what's this?' as it was just plodding around the pitch. But then it took one look at me and started charging. I thought 'stand your ground' but that's not so easy when you have a [half ton] bull running towards you."

"I went one way, he tried to turn but because the ground was wet his legs went from under it. Then it got up and headed for the umpire and the other guy," he said. "We have kids coming to the games so you always have to be wary of where the balls are flying , but we've never had to worry about bulls."

The bull eventually made its way to a nearby field, where it was believed to have been captured and returned to its owner.
