"Only in Australia," she wrote on Facebook on Monday. "Having a nice dinner out with good friends...and a gorgeous koala we named Jeffrey just casually walks by the restaurant."
Ioannou said her friends remained calm but she quickly got up from her seat when the koala left the restaurant and encouraged it to come back in for another round.
"I just jump up, run outside with a video camera, whistle to it to come back when it walks away, it did, and make sure the door is open for it to walk inside," she said.
Guests walked around the restaurant to get a glimpse of the koala and snapped photos as the animal casually made its way around the room.
"Jeff was such a friendly little guy - best experience ever!" Ioannou said.
