Zookeepers baffled by antelope's attack on giraffe

June 16 (UPI) -- An antelope shocked visitors to a Netherlands zoo and baffled keepers by tackling a giraffe in the enclosure they have shared for years.

A visitor to the Rotterdam Zoo was filming Tuesday when the antelope ran at the giraffe and knocked it clean off its feet in an apparent attempt to gore the other animal with its horns.

Onlookers can be heard screaming and calling out in shock as the antelope stabs at the giraffe.

Zoo officials said the giraffe suffered only minor injuries, as the antelope's horns are capped to prevent it from injuring other animals.

Keepers said they do not know what prompted the attack, as the two animals have been living in the same enclosure for several years without any previous incidents.
