June 16 (UPI) -- Police in Georgia were recorded struggling to corner a young black bear that wandered onto the grounds of an optical fiber cable company.

A video posted to Facebook on June 10 by Javy Alvarez, an employee at OFS Fitel in Norcross, shows a young black bear climbing on some scaffolding while workers joke about putting the animal to work.

A second video shows Gwinnett County Police and Animal Control officers struggling to corner the black bear once it returned to the ground.

A police officer with a riot shield attempts to block the bear's path, but it easily passes him and flees.

"I'm not chasing a bear!" one officer can be heard shouting.

Police said they were able to keep an eye on the bear until a wildlife technician with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources arrived on the scene.

"We were able to safely dart the bear, once it ran up into a tree. The bear came down on its own out of the tree once darted and was loaded into a trailer," a DNR representative told WXIA-TV.

The DNR said the bear was released into a state-managed wildlife area in northeast Georgia.
