Australian man records dog's battle with kangaroo

June 13 (UPI) -- An astonished onlooker captured video of a prolonged brawl between a German shepherd and a kangaroo that police eventually broke up.

Anthony Hartley posted a video to YouTube on Sunday that he said represents only a small portion of the 20-minute standoff between the dog and kangaroo.

Hartley said he was driving through Cooma, New South Wales in Australia when he stopped to record the unusual animal fight.

"I saw a kangaroo and a German Shepherd have a bit of a scuffle for about 20 minutes, until the police broke it up," he told 7 News Online.

He said neither animal appeared to land any major blows during the battle.
