June 13 (UPI) -- A police officer in England discovered officers at another station had taken extreme precautions to deter milk thieves.
Calderdale officer Ryan Sharp shared a photo of several padlocked milk cartons he found in a fridge while on a visit to a station in Halifax.
The photo featured three cartons of milk covered with a plastic container with a metal rod secured with a padlock sticking through the handle. One officer supplemented the lock by wrapping the milk carton in biohazard tape.
Sharp arrived at the station to transport a detainee and asked for a cup of coffee when he was shown the strange scene.
"In other news, the milk theft in Halifax Police Station seems to be rife...when he said find one without a padlock, thought he was joking," Sharp said.
