Massive alligator's golf course stroll draws the attention of nearby deer

June 5 (UPI) -- An alligator spotted walking across a South Carolina golf course was so large and intimidating that even a group of nearby deer stopped to gawk.

Jessica Miller, head naturalist at the Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort, captured video last week of the alligator walking across the fairway of the fourth hole at Fripp Island's Ocean Point Golf Links.

The video shows the alligator drawing the attention of human onlookers as well as a group of nearby deer that stopped to watch the reptile's stroll.

"While a small crowd of humans and deer kept watch, he paid us no mind and had only his next pond in his sights. We measured a spot in the grass where this big male laid down, and he measured just short of 12 feet!" the resort said in a Facebook post.
