June 1 (UPI) -- Google Trends released a report of the most misspelled words in each state based on search results for the phrase "how to spell."

Google released the map of "America's Most Misspelled Words" in honor of the 90th Scripps National Spelling Bee, which began on Wednesday.

The map compiled data from Jan. 1 to April 30, 2017 to determine which words Americans most commonly searched how to spell.

Residents of California, Minnesota, New York and Kentucky struggled to spell the world "beautiful" and residents of Washington, Alabama, Maine and Michigan had difficulty with "pneumonia," making those the most commonly misspelled words.

Other words that plagued people in multiple states included "schedule," "tomorrow," "maintenance" and "hallelujah."

People in the state of Wisconsin regularly double-checked the spelling of their state's name, as they most commonly searched for how to spell "Wisconsin."

Residents of Massachusetts had the same issue in 2016, but increased the degree of difficulty significantly in 2017 as they most commonly searched for how to spell "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious."

Google Trends also experienced a spelling error of its own as the original version of the map misspelled "ninety," the most commonly searched word in Maryland, but later shared a corrected version.
