May 31 (UPI) -- A Canadian woman shared footage of tens of thousands tent caterpillars gathering outside her home to create the illusion of a moving floor.

Tammi Hanowski, who lives near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, posted photos and videos on Facebook showing the tent caterpillars infesting the back of her home, including the back deck near her pool.

"Feel like we are in a horror movie... attack of the tent caterpillars! And all our booze is trapped in the pool bar and we can't get to it!" she wrote.

Hanowski said the infestation appeared suddenly.

"Last weekend there was maybe, you know, a few crawling on the deck but nothing major," she told 650 CKOM. "Then about Wednesday all of a sudden they were everywhere."

One of the videos Hanowski captured shows the caterpillar population rebounding after she spread insecticide and cleared away the dead bugs.

"Everyone posting the same things: use your vegetable oil, use vinegar, malathion, use Ambush — we've done it all," Hanowski said.

Hanowski said she is hoping a professional company can help her family get rid of the intruders.
