The Australia Zoo Rescue Unit said a crew responded to a canal on Queensland's Bribie Island after a young male kangaroo fell into the water and observers were concerned he would not escape before the tide rolled in. "The team followed the kangaroo down the canal until the exhausted animal couldn't go any further and decided to rest his weary paws on the kayak," the post said. "The team gently sedated the kangaroo and lifted him up out on dry land, where they washed his feet with disinfectant and waited for him to wake. It wasn't long before he found his feet and bounded into the nearby trees!"
