May 30 (UPI) -- Police officers in Florida helped rescue a trapped owl after it flew into a soccer net on Monday.
Police responded to the scene after receiving a call from an 11-year-old boy, named Draven, who saw the owl fly into the net while riding his bike in the area.
"The owl was entangled in the net and couldn't free himself," the police department said. "Sgt. Marcinik and Officer Gillette responded to the area and carefully removed the owl from the net."
After the owl was freed from the net it remained still on the ground as the officers and other spectators in the area stepped back and encouraged it to fly away.
The owl was eventually taken to the Humane Society to be checked for injuries.
