Baby bear struggles to climb fence in California yard

May 30 (UPI) -- A mama bear in California was filmed trying to help her cub get over a wooden fence when the baby got trapped in a resident's yard.

Isaac Garcia posted a video online showing the mother bear standing atop the wooden fence in Altadena and trying to lift her stranded cub, which is struggling to climb the tall barrier.

The mother's attempts to lift the baby prove unsuccessful, and she disappears to the other side of the fence as the cub continues its struggle to climb.

The homeowner said the baby bear was eventually able to get over the fence by climbing a vine.
