Giant hailstones shatter car windows in Denver

May 9 (UPI) -- A Denver man shared video of the damage caused by golf ball-size hail, including several vehicles having their windows broken or shattered.

The video, recorded at the end of a hail storm Monday, shows the man marveling at the size of the hailstones on the ground before following a group of men to examine the damage to their vehicles.

One car's rear window is riddled with large holes from the hailstones, while several others had their windows completely shattered in the storm.

"I filmed the lightning in the sky as the oncoming storm approached, and was suddenly hit by a massive hailstorm, spawning golf ball-size hail," the man wrote. "It took me by surprise as I'd never seen such a hailstorm, as brief as it was. There was immediate damage in the aftermath of the storm, including that of my personal car."
