May 4 (UPI) -- A British rugby game saw the emergence of a new superstar in the sport: A Canada goose that wandered onto the field and attempted a tackle.

Nathan Swarbrick posted a video to Instagram showing the goose running onto the field Saturday during play of a Rugby Football Union National League game between Caldy and Sedgley Tigers.

The goose, rather than attempt to flee the violent sport, ran directly into the scrum, and even appeared to attempt at least one tackle, which was nearly successful when it managed to tangle itself in a player's legs.

Swarbrick said the goose wasn't the first animal he's seen interrupting a rugby game.

"So this time last year, whilst videoing an England Counties u20 game, a dog ran onto the pitch during a line break and took the players out. A year on and this happens," he wrote.
