Doctors remove seed growing inside 6-year-old boy's ear

May 3 (UPI) -- Doctors at a Chinese hospital removed a plant seed from inside a 6-year-old boy's ear after it started to grow inside his head.

Video filmed at the hospital in Chongqing on April 22 shows doctors examining a bean-shaped seed that germinated inside the boy's ear after falling in at some earlier date.

Doctors said the seed was able to grow inside the boy's ear due to the warm temperature and moisture.

The seed was successfully removed in a half-hour procedure, doctors said.
