May 3 (UPI) -- Sheriff's deputies were called to a Florida home to remove an alligator found taking a nice springtime swim in the resident's backyard pool.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office said two deputies responded Monday to a home in the Cedar Cove subdivision of Winter Haven on a report of an alligator in a swimming pool.

Sgt. Beebe and Deputy Barber arrived to find the small gator practicing its strokes in the water.

"Today, this guy (or could be a girl?) decided to go swimming in Cedar Cove (Winter Haven) but since it's #WaterSafetyMonth Sgt. Beebe and Deputy Barber responded to make the pool safe again," the sheriff's office said. "Wel,l they would have responded in any other month, it was just convenient to use that hashtag #welovehashtags #justkeepswimming #PCSOgatorremovalservice #welivehere."
