May 2 (UPI) -- The Transportation Security Administration shared a photo of an unusual smoking device seized because it was once a grenade.
The TSA said in an Instagram post the marijuana smoking device -- or "piece of art" as it was charitably labeled -- was seized from a passenger's carry-on bag at General Mitchell International Airport.
The device appears to be made from an inert grenade, some padlocks, and a metal box.
"While it is an inert grenade, we don't know grenades are inert until our explosives professionals take a closer look, and that takes time and slows down the line," the post said. "It can even lead to a complete shutdown and evacuation. Why aren't they allowed you might ask? Good question. Would you like to see somebody pull a grenade out of their bag at 30,000 feet?"
