April 24 (UPI) -- An Indian forest ranger was recorded jumping off the roof of a home to dodge an attack from a leopard that wandered into a village.

Authorities said a 12-hour hunt was launched in the village of Kuruli last week to capture a leopard that wandered into the village and was seen running around near, inside and even on top of homes.

A video shows a forest ranger pursued by the big cat on top of a house in the village jumping off the roof to avoid the animal's attack.

The leopard was captured alive after about 12 hours on the loose. Officials said three people, including the forest ranger, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
