April 21 (UPI) -- An owl and its chicks have decided to take up residence in a Lowes hardware store in Colorado.

The nest, which is home to several chicks with an adult owl monitoring nearby, was built at the top of a shelving unit in a Lowes Garden center in Colorado Springs.

Employees looked to protect the owl home by marking the pallet with the words "Do no touch owl!"

Guests occasionally have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the owl chicks, which are surprisingly large and will not leave the nest until they are about 45 days old.

Owls regularly make nests wherever possible, including other bird's nests and any suitable manmade space.

The adult owl will watch over the chicks from a rafter until the chicks are ready to fly out on their own.
