A video posted to Facebook by witness Brian Steimke shows the car's driver attempting to flag down help from other cars, which honk their horns in an attempt to get the attention of the truck driver.
The California highway patrol said the car was dragged for about .7 of a mile, but Steimke said the Nissan was wedged under the truck for "at least" four miles.
The truck finally came to a stop when a witness pulled in front of the truck and stopped their vehicle.
The CHP said the 62-year-old truck driver told troopers he had no idea that he had struck a car while changing lanes.
The 34-year-old Nissan driver was not seriously injured and declined to be taken to a hospital. The CHP said the incident is not being investigated as criminal, but the truck driver could be cited for improperly changing lanes and causing a collision.
