April 20 (UPI) -- An octopus at an Australian beach was filmed stealing a woman's pair of expensive Ray-Ban sunglasses despite attempts to wrest them back.

The video, filmed Thursday at the north end of One Mile Beach in New South Wales, shows Emma Solomon and her family attempting to get her sunglasses back from a thieving octopus.

A man trying to pull the sunglasses back without breaking them asks if they are "good ones," and Solomon responds regretfully that the sunglasses are high-end "Ray-Bans."

A young boy expresses doubt that the sunglasses will be returned, saying octopuses are "strong," "inquisitive" and unlikely to let go of objects they desire.

"It's not the end of the world, you guys. We can always get another pair," the man says as he concedes victory to the be-tentacled thief, which swims off with the shades.
