The 9-foot gator was reported in the southbound lanes of the expressway around 7 a.m.

Deputies and toropers arrived at the scene shortly after and shutdown the lane to reclaim the gator after it crawled onto the concrete lane divider.

Florida Highway Patrol officers said the gator was removed safely, but was seen snapping its jaw at passing vehicles.
