April 18 (UPI) -- A sneaky seal in Victoria, Australia, approached a pair of fishermen and nearly stole their catch -- an adult mako shark.

A video filmed Saturday by a boat ramp in Port Fairy shows two fishermen cleaning and gutting the mako shark when the hungry seal approaches.

One of the fishermen attempts to ward the seal off by spraying it with a hose, and it seems to temporarily stop the creature.

The eventually decides it does not care about the hose and lunges to steal the shark, which the other fisherman pulls off the stone slab and drags across the parking lot while the seal gives chase.

"They cut off a piece of the sharks fin and threw it in the water in hopes that it would tempt the seal back down but this did not work," the filmer wrote. "After many attempts of trying to hose down the seal and scare him away, one fisherman yelled at the seal to which the seal barked back. And then, the seal chased after them."
