April 18 (UPI) -- A Michigan sheriff's office is trying to find the owner of an unusual stray pet found wandering in the woods: a pig.

The Muskegon County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a wooded area in a rural part of the county last week on a report of a wandering pig, and discovered the apparently domesticated porker living among the trees.

Former Animal Control Deputy Tiffany Peterson, who is caring for the pig while seeking its owner, said the porcine wanderer is a female weighing about 25 pounds.

Peterson said it seems clear the pig is someone's pet because the animal is house trained, clean, and loves to cuddle.
