April 14 (UPI) -- A stylish cat in Japan regularly dresses in elaborate costumes to sit at the table for meals with his owner.

Maro, the cosplay cat, is the star of his owner Rie Matsui's Instagram page, which features more than 300 photos of the 3-year-old cat dressed in various costumes while seated across from carefully prepared meals.

The page, meant to showcase Japanese food and culture, features Maro dressed in various traditional Japanese outfits, uniforms from various occupations such as a police officer or nurse and even KFC mascot Colonel Sanders.

Most of Matsui's posts feature Maro seated in front of meals she prepared including sweet potato cheese cake, spaghetti with bolognese sauce and sushi.

"He never eats the food, although sometimes I give him a little reward after shooting," Matsui told The Dodo.

The dashing feline companion has more than 73,000 followers on Instagram and is a perfect subject according to his owner.

"He is great at posing, because he's so quiet and easygoing," Matsui said.
