Authorities in Florida are warning the public to beware of alligators after one of the reptiles walked up to the front door of a Venice home. Photo by the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office/Facebook
The post included photos of the alligator standing by the front door and in front of the home's garage door.
"Let this be a reminder that not all reptiles show courtesy during mating season. Stay safe out there, Floridians!" the post said.
The sheriff's office included a little "#CopHumor" with the post:
"What do you call an alligator in a vest? An investigator.
What do you call an alligator on your front porch? Uninvited."
